Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious restaurants in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most enjoyable time of my life. I could not learn or do enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She gained a deeper knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her style of cooking. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for the condition of children with diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate in that she could share her true passion with other people.
